    At the moment I'm playing:

    - Underrail: This game has some very unforgiving combat since the enemies don't level with you and since you're like paper to enemies in comparison. I'm getting my ass kicked/rekt by anything that has backup and even some of the human enemies will put you down in one turn. I don't like these ridiculous cooldowns but I'm enjoying stealing people's belongings from(cabinets, boxes, safes, ect) and it's very fun! I finally got ahold of a hacking device from Ezra then went to the private dorms hacking open all the doors, lockpicking anything locked, stole anything that wasn't bolted down, and made off with tons of loot and around 800 SGS credits(which translates to 8,000 which means I can buy tons of stuff now).

I have been playing Shadow Complex Remastered, a Metroidvania like game that was released a couple of years ago on Xbox live and which was based on a franchise with a tie in books series by Orson Scott Card.
The background story is about a second American Civil War in which an militant organization seeks to reform the United States into a second Roman Empire like society ruled by a Caesar. (no no people starting to cosplay like Romans like the Legion, more a military oriented civilization with absolute rulers)

The story isn't that deep in this game to be honest and feels a little like Bionic Command Rearmed (quite a lot actually), but the game is pretty fun for a couple of hours in which it takes to finish it, and it looks pretty decent to.
It is not as well developed as a Metroidvania though, lacking the number of nooks and crannies of those games.
It plays really well with a keyboard and mouse and I recommend that control system over the controller which I tried to play it with earlier.

I'm also playing Underrail at the moment. I had to start the game again after I took a horrible set of skills, and now, on my second run things go far better. I have to admit, because this game is so unforgiving I am playing on easy mode. Kind of embarrassed about that, but during my tries on normal difficulty I couldn't even get past the first quests. I'm probably still doing something wrong, though, because it shouldn't be impossible. Even now on easy mode I often get killed by unexpected stuff. Lots of save spamming going on. Sometimes you just have to get lucky as well (had an encounter in which my enemies missed all their flash bangs and made life a whole lot easier for me).

Anyway, I must say this game is a gem. I love the atmosphere, the combat, the graphics, the many, many, many items and skills, the crafting (which is remarkably intuitive) and the exploring of the world. I've been lost quite a few times already, which is frustrating but really also quite cool and even realistic, I mean, come on, it's an underground world, no looking at the sun or stars for navigation.

So far the game seems pretty linear, though. Not sure if there's some choice and consequence stuff later on in the game, but so far the only thing I've discovered was a little side quest to make a main quest a bit easier, which isn't really all that choicyconsequency at all really. But I guess it doesn't matter all that much, since the game is clearly focussed on combat and exploration, which both feel incredible. There are so many tactics you have to consider during fights and really quite often a well placed trap, well timed flash bangs and shock bolts are the deciding factor during fights. The all guns blazing approach rarely works and if it works, it's because I accidentally trailed off into low-level territories. This might just be because my character isn't a tank build, though. Haven't tried other builds yet, so I can't really say.

So far my favourite game that has been released this year. Although that doesn't say much, or anything really, since it's the only game I've played that has been released this year. Old PC is old.

Also, out of curiosity, what's your build, @MercenarySnake?

    I'm using:

    - Stealth
    - Guns
    - Intimidate
    - Evasion
    - Hacking
    - Lockpicking
    - Electronics
    - Tailoring

    As for my stats:
    7
    5
    6
    5
    9
    3
    7

Yeah I'm currently level 8 getting clobbered by the muties with the old key(cleaned all the other areas besides two out) and I'm getting rekt. Killed around 4-5 ghouls and 2-3 dogs then I have barely any health, I still have a stupid cooldowns timer on my stimpacks then the last dog comes in and has buttsecks with me.

Haha those muties were awful. I've just returned to that area with my higher level character. you don't have to go through them to get the drill parts, though. That's all I'm gonna say. Also, try crafting leather armor from those doghides. They should help a bunch if you don't want to wait till your char is stronger.

For my character I chose a stealthy assassin type. At first just with crossbows, throwing and traps, but soon I abandoned throwing (it's falling behind, but I can throw grenades relatively effectively) and invested a few levels into melee, because I can't keep everyone at bay, and I found I often got butchered when it got up close and personal. I don't deal massive amounts of damage, but thanks to my pneumatic gloves and crippling strike I can defend myself quite well now.

    My skills:

    Throwing
    Crossbows
    Melee

Dodge and evasion to a lesser extent.

    Stealth
    Hacking
    Lockpickimg

And traps also to a lesser extent.

Some craftimg skills in there but I only improve my crafting skills whenever some new part requires me to. I mainly make hypos and crossbows. I don't invest in tailoring, although I feel like I should be having better armor for sure, but oh well, can't do everything.

No dialogue skills which is kind of sad because often enough I could use them.

    Stats:

    4
    9
    7
    4
    8
    3
    8

Also, for the first time I've encountered a quest with multiple endings. So yay, it's not all linear! I've just invested a whole level in persuasion to complete it, though. Spreading those skills a bit thin now...

Also, I've just encountered this. Wow. This game keeps on surprising me in fun little ways!

I started KOTOR 2 and it's basically to KOTOR 1 what New Vegas is to Fallout 3.
    It just works.

Hmmmm... I have KOTOR 1 lying around somewhere. I should get started on that after Underrail. And then get my hands on KOTOR 2 as well. It sounds promising. I had some fun with KOTOR 1, but never got really far in the game.

You know dopezilla you might want to stick with only 8 skills because I would assume this game punishes you for attempting the jack of all trades route. I heard that the end game in the Dark Caverns is brutal as well especially if you don't focus on your build. I think I could've done mine better but I was just experimenting. As for avoiding the muties, I can't do that since I don't have my lockpicking at 75 and unlock the door to the tools(mine is at 54) and I already hacked into the security system besides that the one area where I can't access level 3 security.

Yeah, I reloaded and dropped the persuasion skill. Found another way. Gonna play some more Underrail right now and count my skills. I make sure to keep my main weapon skills maxed out, though. Gonna play some more now and take a look at my skills. I don't think I'm that far into the game, though, so the next few levels I'm going to invest purely into my core skills I think.

I've also been experimenting with my build a bit so far, but I'm going to take your advice and stick with what I've got.

Also, are you playing on normal difficulty?

Yes I'm on Normal(Hard just increases cooldown time). Slaughtered all the muties and dogs without mercy, got the tools then proceeding to give them to Tanner, left the SGS compound to an area with those interactive rocks outside the compound cave area to use the TNT charges I finally got access to, made it to an area with around 30 traps(talk about being paranoid), and now I'm inside this maze area with ladders(oh and more traps) so I'm gonna see where it leads if it doesn't result in my legs being blown off. I love exploiting chain link fences with doors around rathounds, they can't hit me then.

Just fooling around in the ArmA3 Editor/Virtual Arsenal and trying out some of the community made scenarios, campaigns and weapons or equipment. Oh, and a bit of Darkest Dungeon and Baldur's Gate 2 as well.

All that with some occasional Team Fortress 2 with my friends.
