   Fallout Character - Skills

Skills are learned knowledge. Skills increase by experience, or during the course of the game by special events. The higher the skill level, the better you are at that skill. Tag skills are skills your character specializes in. Each tag skill gains +20% and increases twice as fast.

Small guns
The use, care and general knowledge of small firearms. Pistols, SMG's and rifles. Very usefull for begining.
35%+AG

40%+(AG+ST)/2
Melee weapons
Using non-ranged weapons in hand to hand or melee combat. Knives, sledge hammers, spears, clubs and so on. My favourite. I always have a super sledge hammer that rocks!
25%+(AG+ST)/2
Throwing
The skill of muscle-propelled ranged weapons. Throwing knives, spears and granades. Good compination when used with melee tag. Throw grenades and strike with sledge hammer!
40%+AG
First aid
General healing skill. Used to heal small cuts, abrasions, and other minor ills. In game terms, the use of first aid can heal more hit points over the time than just rest. Don't waste on this one.
30%+PE
Doctor
The healing of major wounds and crippled limbs. Without this skill, it will take a much longer period of time to restore crippled lims to use. Same as first aid. Not worth.
15%+(PE+AG)/2
Sneak
Quiet movement and the ability to ramain unnoticed. If successuful, you will be much harder to locate. You cannot run and sneak at the same time. If you have steal tag, than use this one also. Usefull but not too much.
25%+AG
Lockpick
The skill of opening locks without a proper key. Sometimes you'll need it, but load and save game combination could help.
20%+(PE+AG)/2
Steal
The ability to make the things of others your own. Can be used to steal from people or places. Very usefull
20%+AG

The finding and removal of traps. Also the setting of explosives for demolition purposes. Haven't tryed this one so there's nothing else I can tell you about.
20%+(PE+AG)/2
Science
Covers a variety of hi-yechnology skills, such as computers, biology, physycs and geology. Must have for inteligent characters! Hacking computers is real fun.
25%+IN
Repair
The practical application of the science skill. The fixing of broken eqiupment, machinery and electronics. This alo means to get some devices out of order. You'll know what I'm talking about when you reach Military base.
20%+(IN+AG)/2
Speech
The ability to communicate in a practical and efficient manner. The skill of convincing others that your position is correct. The ability to lie and not get caught. Very, very usefull
25%+CH
Barter
Trading and trade related tasks. The ability to get better prices for items you sell, and lower prices for item you buy. Important for begining, but you'll stop bying later. I usually choose not to take this trait.
30%+CH
Gambling
The knowledge and practical skills related to wagering. The skill at cards, dice and other games can get you a lot of money. But nothing else.
20%+LK
